Explore the world of Encaustic art, an ancient form of painting with hot pigmented beeswax used in a modern way! During this course participants will learn about encaustic history, materials, and safety. In this 4-day intensive workshop, students will explore a variety of techniques such as incising, layering, pigment sticks, mark-making, mixed media collage and monotypes. Designed for beginners and advanced skills alike, we will work together to focus on taking your encaustic journey to a new level!

Encaustic Explorations
1 Day Workshop with R&F Core Artist Shelley Jean
Encaustic painting is the process of painting with hot pigmented beeswax. In this comprehensive class we will create using a variety of techniques such as incising, image transfers, pigment sticks, mark-making, mixed media collage and mono-printing. Students will get to experiment with our featured R&F products including our newest line of drawing oils! Students will leave with multiple pieces and receive 10% off supplies purchased in store that day.
