Encaustic painting is the process of painting with hot pigmented beeswax. This technique is ancient, but has become increasingly popular with modern artists of today. Come delve into the versatility of this fascinating medium that invites you to experiment!

Participants will learn about encaustic history, safety, surfaces, and fusing. In this comprehensive 2-day workshop we will be exploring a variety of techniques such as incising, layering, pigment sticks, mark-making, mixed media collage, mono-printing, and incorporating photos. Designed for beginners and advanced, we will work together to focus on taking your encaustic creativities to a new level!

Shelley Jean is an Arts Educator with over 30 years experience. She currently teaches at the Maitland Art Museum, Art Studios of Cocoa Beach as well as her home Studio, Secret Place Studio. She s the President of the Florida Chapter of International Encaustic Artists and is a Tier Artist for R&F Paints.
