Florida Wax

We are a chapter of the International Encaustic Artists who celebrate encaustic art through educational opportunities and supporting the community of artists in the State of Florida working in this medium.

Encaustic is an ancient painting process that utilizes molten beeswax, damar resin, and pigments. The Egyptians and Greeks used this medium to paint murals, funeral portraits, and ships. Encaustic today is used in a more contemporary way through paintings, photography, sculpture, and mixed media.

Any Florida artists working in Encaustic and interested in joining our group, booking a demonstration, or showing our work please contact us at floridawax@yahoo.com
